  • Description

Laser-engraved signs are superior to traditional screen printed-plastic, painted metal, or vinyl signs due to their corrosion free material, bonded construction, UV stability, resistance to moisture, grease, oil and most chemicals, making them suitable for home and professional applications in harsh or dirty environments, high-traffic areas or anywhere a long service life is required without degradation. Maple Skyline can produce a range of bespoke signage with the same high quality optimised for different applications and budgets.

Our TexPro Commercial signs use a professional grade 3.2mm thick laminate with an enhanced non-reflective textured acrylic cap providing extra durability and scratch resistance for the most demanding environments. Selected content can optionally be engraved deeper and infilled with acrylic paint to provide additional colouring. Furthermore, using laser cutting we can produce arbitrary shaped signs and internal cut-outs straight from your design perfect every time without any additional tooling. This product is ideally suited to industrial applications such as factories, distribution centres and loading bays, garages and workshops, hospitals, retail stores and other high-traffic public areas.

Typical Applications: Interior/exterior commercial signage, standard industrial signage, floorplans, machinery signage and more.

For full instructions on how to order please see the Additional Info tab.

    Customisation Instructions:

The initial product price shown is the base price per item before selecting the required size and options. Product dimensions are specified in cm to 0.1cm resolution and material/processing costs are shown and calculated per cm2. The final product price is automatically re-calculated and updated as you configure your product so you can see the effects of your selections.

TIP: Depending on your priorities, you may wish to set the dimensions first as per step ? in order to see the cost effects of your selections.

    1. Select the material colour option from the drop-down list at the top of the page. The colour combination is Face (top layer) colour / Core (base layer) colour where the base layer is the colour of text or graphics that will be revealed when the top layer is engraved away.

    2. Select the laser processing type required. This may be standard engraving of text or graphics or outline scoring where the text/graphics contains outlines only which can be scored or 'drawn' by the laser which Is much faster than raster engraving.

    3. Select the orientation of your design. 'Landscape' orientation means the longest edge (length) is the horizontal edge of the design while 'Portrait' means the longest edge is the vertical edge.

    4. Select a font. We provide pre-defined lists of fonts which we know work well with laser processing and should suit most applications. However, if you require a specific font which is not listed (e.g. to conform to corporate branding) then enter the font name in the custom font text field provided. We have access to a vast range of fonts, however if we cannot readily source the required font we may contact you to request that you provide us the necessary font file.

    5. Select justification. We will apply the justification to text and any graphics you may upload for your label design. If 'fit' is selected, we will space out text proportionally in order to fill the dimensions of the label (with a suitable margin)

    6. Select fixing method. We offer a choice of screw fixing holes or self-adhesive fixing pads as standard or full-coverage 3M permanent self-adhesive backing for an additional cost.

    7. Optional arbitrary outline. If your design contains an arbitrary (non-rectangular) outline which requires cutting then check the orange circle for this option. Note that you will need to upload a compatible design file containing the outline shape.

    8. Optional internal cut-outs. If your design contains any internal cut-outs then check the orange circle for this option. Note that you will need to upload a compatible design file containing the shapes and locations of the cut-outs.

    9. Optional infill. If your design requires selective infill of some design elements to provide additional colour then check the orange circle for this option. Note that you will need to upload a compatible design file containing the infilled features and their colours.

    10. Enter text required if not included in a graphics upload. Text must be entered exactly as required including any capitalisation, spaces and line breaks indicated by //. It is your responsibility to ensure this information is exactly right as, unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for errors which are not our fault. If there is any ambiguity or complexity to your design then consider uploading a completed graphic layout or contact us to discuss so we can be sure to get your item exactly right.

    11. Enter text height if you require a specific height, otherwise leave blank and we will determine a suitable height to suit the specified label dimensions. If your design requires multiple text sizes then consider uploading a completed graphic layout or contact us to discuss so we can be sure to get your item exactly right.

    12. Custom Font. If you require a specific font which is not listed as per step 4 then enter the font name in the custom font text field.

    13. Upload a graphics file for your design (if required) by clicking the ;'Choose File' button, paying particular attention to the accepted file formats, size limits and resolution requirements. This may be, for example, a logo or icon to accompany text, a photographic image or a complete finished layout for your label including both text and graphics. Scalable Vector Format (SVG) or Adobe Illustrator (AI) format will generally give best quality results if available. Raster image files such as PNG or JPG should be at least 300DPI resolution, although we can upscale image resolution if required using artificial intelligence (AI) image processing software. Your design may include an outline for cutting arbitrary shaped labels and can also include internal cut-outs.

    14. Set the dimensions in cm (length x width) of your sign using the sliders and/or input fields to a resolution of 0.1cm. If your design features a non-rectangular outline you should specify the maximum length and width of the design, i.e. the size of the rectangle that the design will fit into. This is important as it is used to calculate the final price of your product.

Please Note: We define the length as the longest edge and the width the shortest edge of your design irrespective of the orientation of the design content. This allows us to account for raw material dimensions and the processing capability of our equipment, and gives you full access to the maximum sizes we can produce.
