WHO WE ARE

We are a small UK ecommerce business founded by husband-and-wife team Hugh and Sam Wills. Hugh is British-Canadian, a former communications engineer with more than 35 years’ experience in product design, development and manufacturing including more than 20 years as Director of his own engineering company. Sam has held various roles in contracts administration, procurement, customer service and accounts in the defence, security and high street retail industries.

HOW WE GOT HERE

Together, we founded Maple Skyline Ltd. in 2017 as a side-hustle to take advantage of the ecommerce boom, initially trading on the Amazon FBA platform and importing white label goods from China, then later we began designing our own bespoke range of home textiles.

After the 2020/21 COVID pandemic we, like many others, re-evaluated our lives and decided it was time for a change, so Hugh closed his former engineering company and we made our side-hustle into a full-time concern, establishing our office in Harlow in January 2022.

WHAT WE'RE DOING

In 2023 we invested in a state-of-the-art, high-definition 3D laser printer capable of cutting, engraving and indelibly marking a vast range of materials enabling us to rapidly design, develop and manufacture our own unique products in-house without the constraints of outside manufacturers. With it, we can better explore our creativity, testing out new materials and processes and refining designs over days instead of weeks, allowing us to bring new and exciting products to market more quickly.

WHERE WE'RE GOING

Our ambition is to build a catalogue of unique, low-volume, hand-made and customised products for those who want something a little different, distinguishing us from other sellers distributing branded generic, mass-produced white-label goods.

While we continue to offer our standard products through Amazon, the launch of our webstore gives us the flexibility to offer a more personal customer service and greater product choice including extensive customisation options and tailored products made to order. We also offer bespoke product and engraving services to local residents and businesses through direct sales and local events.
